An old sock for my camera

So, as I told you all yesterday, I got a new camera and I'm pretty in love with it. I don't know about y'all but my purse is utter chaos. It contains sunglasses, inhalers, money, makeup, old crackers, buttons, receipts, my ipod, my ipod charger (I don't know why I bring that sometimes), and an assortment of other strange things. It weighs me down big time. Well, normally I just add my camera to the rest of my belongings in my purse when I desire to take it somewhere, but I refuse to do that with my new camera. What if it gets scratched?! So, I decided to make a cute little camera holder for it.

I went over to my parents on Saturday and they were getting rid of lots of mismatched socks. My dad said this is "the year [they] get rid of stuff." I have no problem wearing two completely different socks so I left there with a big Target bag full. I do plan on wearing them all, but I decided to spare one for my new camera.

I started out with a plain old sock.

Then I put my camera inside and cut the top of the sock off so it was about an inch or two longer than the camera.

After that I used my scissors to poke holds around the top edge. I sewed on felt flowers I made and hot glued a ribbon around the bottom to cover up the seaming that exposed its sock qualities.

Finally, I threaded a ribbon threw the holes at the top to act as a drawstring.

That's it. Now my camera is safe from the perils of my purse and oh so cute.

I am so sorry about your thrift store experience today :( My friend Cassidy and I stopped at a flea market on the way home from Charleston and we were scared for our lives and found NOTHING! Ugh hate it when that happens! Talk to you soon!
