Easter in Kindergarten

Spring break!!! Yes friends, my spring break started today and I could not be more relieved. This week has been long and exhausting but lots of fun and festive.
I just wanted to share with y'all a little glimpse into Easter in my kindergarten class...

These cute bunny bags were for collecting the eggs during our Easter egg hunt. I love that each one is different.

On Monday the kids used shaving cream and paint to decorate big paper eggs. (directions here)

At the end of today we had a big 'ole egg hunt. It was exciting, loud, and a bit chaotic. The little ones absolutely adored it.

I sent all my students home super hyped up on sugar and with bags of goodies in hand. For the next ten days I'll be home, livin' it up (ie sleeping late and going to the gym).

Christmas Break!

Well, I made it! Christmas break has officially begun. After a raining, busy, crafty,  pajama day at school with extremely excited children I am blissfully exhausted.
Here are a few pics of our day...

My gifts for the kids. I couldn't resist these adorable baskets from the Target dollar section

We made "reindeer chow" for them to scatter on their lawns on Christmas Eve for the reindeer. It's just  oatmeal and glitter.

To ensure that I sent them home on sugar overload, we decorated cookies.

Every store I went to was out of Christmas sprinkles, but the kids were all happy with left over candy corn.

My mom found a cute snowman decorating kit for me so we had some fun with that.

We also watched Polar Express and read The Grinch. I so wish I had taken pictures of their letters to Santa, your heart would melt.
Now I'm going to stay up late, sleep late, finish my Christmas shopping, and focus on Christmas and all it entails.

School so far

It's been quite a day...and that's all I'm gonna say about it. I figured I'd share a few pics from the school year so far.

I just can't believe it's already September.

So far for our "letter of the day" we've glued marshmallows on M, pasta on P, beans on B, and straws on S.

I love receiving artwork from my students. It just makes my heart melt.

And yes, some students still bring apples for their teacher :o)

Happy Labor day weekend!!!
