A fireplace would be nice...

Happy day-after-Chrsitmas my friends. I hope Santa came to see you all and that each of you had a special Christmas. My Christmas was truly wonderful. I enjoyed seeing all my loved ones on my dad's side, my parents and brother (wouldn't be Christmas without spending as much time as possible with them), my mom's side of the family, and to top it all off, it was my first Christmas married to the sweetest man I've ever met (we enjoyed spending some quality time together watching "Man vs. Wild") Did I mention we also got a white Christmas? Due to the suckiness of my camera I didn't take any pictures, so y'all will just have to believe me when I say I had a wonderful and beautiful Christmas.
With all the gorgeous snow outside outside and the obvious cold penetrating our little home, I have been wishing for a fireplace. We could have chosen an apartment with a fireplace but ended up with a built-in entertainment center instead, which really is more practical. I just think it'd be so nice to have a blazing fire to watch and get warm beside. I've accepted we will never have a real fireplace in our little apartment, but I have considered the possibility of creating a faux fireplace. I have no idea where I'd put it but hey, I can dream.
This evening I wanted to share some of my favorite faux fireplaces....

I love the simplicity of this one.

Love the faux fire as well as the uncluttered mantle display.

Isn't the chalkboard delightful?

This one truly is a whimsical dream.

I really did sit on our couch today, surveying the room, trying to find an appropriate location for a faux fireplace. Maybe we could get rid of the kitchen table...or the couch....Well, I'm sure I'll have a place to build my own fireplace someday and when I do, I'll use these gorgeous pictures for inspiration.
