Homeowners

I've been meaning to write about our little home for a while now, but just haven't had the time. Now, I finally have a free evening and figured I'd share a little.
Let me first say that getting this home has been a huge blessing that only God could provide. I'd been praying for a few months now for a nice house, in a nice neighborhood for under a certain amount. I knew that asking for all those things, especially the price I was hoping for, were very unlikely, but our God can do anything can't He? And He did. We got this home through something called the Good Neighbor Next Door program and if you are a teacher, fireman, EMS, or police definitely check it out. It was the first house we looked at on the program, the first time we'd put our name in the lottery (that's how the process works). Very rarely do people in this program get the first house they put their name in for, but we had a lot of people praying very diligently and I just had to praise the Lord when I got the email title "WINNING BID."
Being a foreclosed home, it's needed a lot of scrubbing and a pretty good amount of work. So far we've ripped out carpet, gotten new appliances, painted, and killed loooots of spiders and have a few more big projects we'd like to accomplish this week.  I'll admit its not my dream house, but it is our house and soon it will be our home. It's so satisfying making so much progress and knowing that we actually own the place we live.
   We are so thankful.
