How to have a cheap, but special date night

Date nights at home are always so much fun and so much more affordable. I love going out with my husband as much as any one, but you know "a penny saved is a penny earned." Having a special night at home on a relaxing summer evening doesn't have to be boring and ordinary and you can even wear your bathrobe to eat your special supper. Not that I'd do that or anything....
For one of our recent at-home date nights, I decided to cook up one of my favorite meals. We rarely eat breakfast together and when we do it's something quick. So, for a special supper, turkey sausage and eggs, cinnamon muffins, baked veggies, and homegrown tomatoes (from my parents' garden) sounded fantastic to both of us.
Seriously folks, who doesn't love breakfast food?

Along with a special meal it's important to make the atmosphere a little more special and out of the ordinary. It's summer sooooo a picnic on our little apartment porch couldn't have been more perfect.

Complete with mood lighting

and rocking chairs.

And for dessert, go all out or...go completely simple.

And there you have it friends. A perfect way to spend a summer evening with your love.
