"The 25 Posts of Christmas" Gift No. 8

I've spent my morning sitting here writing lesson plans and I'm starting to go a little stir crazy, so I figured I should stop and do a lil' crafting. I love hair accessories. Flowers and bows just make me feel so delightfully girly. I would love to receive a gift like this so hopefully you have a lady on your gift list who would be delighted by this gift as well.

Pretty Little Bow

   You will need:
  • A ruler
  • Scissors
  • A needle
  • Thread
  • Fabric
  • Bobby pin or headband
Step 1. Lay out your fabric and use a ruler and pen to outline a strip 1 1/2" wide and 12" long and a piece 1 1/2 " wide and 1" long.

Step 2. Cut out the traced pieces.

Step 3. Fold the long piece in half and sew the edges together. Do the same with the smaller piece.

Step 4. Place teh two strips on a flat surface so that the seam is on the bottom and flatten. An iron would work perfectly (we don't own an iron so I just set some old text books on mine).

Step 5. Fold the ends under on the long strip so they overlap in the middle. Then place the small piece on top and fold the ends of that one over the side of the long one and underneath. Sew the whole thing together.

Step 6. Put it on a bobby pin or sew it on a headband.
